SCHOLARSHIPS AND SUPPORT
We provide college scholarships to our local high school (Woodland Park High School) graduates who have chosen to pursue a four-year engineering/math or science degree, or a two-year vocational degree. Our recipients have pursued degrees ranging from cryptography to mechanical engineering to food science.
Organizations we have supported include: Woodland Park Hockey Association, Choices, The Community Cupboard, Habitat for Humanity, Lake George Charter School, Mountain Top Cycling Club, Prospect Home Care and Hospice, Treasure Health Hospice, Woodland Aquatic Project, World Vision, Woodland Park Panthers Booster Club, and Woodland Park High School Robotics Team.
HDAero supports a local elementary schools’ Taste of Science program and Master Class program yearly. Principles of aerodynamics are taught through the students designing, building, and flying model rockets and paper airplanes. Other engineering concepts such as strength of materials, building a circuit, and brainstorming about futuristic aircraft are also discussed.
We also sponsor one to two high school interns interested in aerospace each school year, providing them with analytical equations and exposure to the industry.
